Safe Environment

Diocesan Office of Child Protection

Safe Environment training is required by the Diocese of Baton Rouge for adults who have, or will have, ongoing, unsupervised contact with minors in the course of their work or service as an employee, chaperone, or volunteer.

The following Child Protection Checklist has been compiled to facilitate the understanding of the requirements of the Diocese of Baton Rouge Office of Youth and Child Protection.

All field trip chaperones and any other volunteer operating in a supervisory capacity over children must meet all requirements. All forms must be on file in the St. Joseph School office in order to be considered complete.

SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING STEPS

_____ 1. Child Protection Certificate
The training and verification certificate is available by clicking HERE.

_____ 2. Read the Code of Ethics and sign Acknowledgement Form. This can also be found online by clicking HERE.

_____ 3. Complete Employee/Volunteer Application (EApps). This is also available in the school office or online by clicking HERE.

_____ 4. Submit to Louisiana State Police sex offender screening and background check. This must be done at the State Trooper's office in Baton Rouge. A fee is involved. Necessary forms and directions are available in the school office.

Again, all forms must be in on file in the St. Joseph School office in order to be considered complete.
